Temp traffic lights on the A50 meant a slight alteration to the course, with the final ramp to the finish on top of the M6 bridge being universally disliked.. ah well as Boris would say “Dem’s de breaks” Kevin Davies missed the round which meant Richard Morgan closed the gap in the road bike challenge […]

10 solos and 1 tandem faced the timekeeper Anne Gregory for round 11 of our 10 mile TT series. 7 of these 10 set new personal best times and the other 3 were very close to their best times, so it really wasn’t a bad night despite the wind.  Craig Lee grabbed top Guardian points […]

A night, mid July back in 22,  warm and sunny and heavy roads, chippings and light winds.. what’s not to like. Congratulations to Claire Thompson [27:11] and Sam Taylor [21:30] who were winners of the Championship 10 in the Women’s and Men’s categories. 2nd Female was Deborah Morgan [27:25], 2nd Male Matt Heath [22:07] 3rd […]

Dreaded Traffic lights on Pennys Lane and Surface dressing at Mangoletsi’s forced us to use the 2 lap circuit for R10 of our 10 mile TT series.   The slower course didn’t stop Sam Taylor from speeding round in 21:54, which I believe may be a course record.   There was bit of movement in […]

There’s been a bit of a shakeup in the overall tables after R9 of our club 10’s,  [there was a typo or two in the RB &GC tables that are now corrected] a fair few riders now have 5 counting rides in. Sam Taylor was fastest on the night from Jeff Wood and Craig Lee. […]

R7 the halfway point..  There is still time to have a go and start you campaign with 6 counting rounds left. Jeff Wood was fastest overall in R7, from Geoff Mullett and Dave Walker [both making their 2022 debut]  Andrew Mallagh took top points in R7 of the G/Cup with a 74 sec improvement on […]

It’s interesting at R6 as the 5 counting rides starts to come into play, early leaders can fall away as other club members start to get 5 rides in.   Congratulations to Neil Houghton who improved 44 sec to win this round of the G Cup and Nikki Morley and any others who were riding […]

It’s tight at the top after R5, Sam Taylor was quickest this week, despite not feeling on his best form after recovering from Covid19. Nigel Woods took top honours in this round of the Guardian Cup. Stu Ward still leads the Scratch overall, Dave Cope leads both the GC and the RB series, but it’s […]

After 4 rounds things are starting to settle down, and with 10 rounds still to go, there is still time to start your campaign and snatch victory, remember the Guardian Cup [handicap] and the Scratch cup are won by the best 5 counting rounds, the Road Bike Challenge is a cumulative total. Stretching out an […]

It’s tough at the top!  Temp lights at the entrance of Shakely Mere carpark meant a switch to the 2 lap circuit and fortunately the promised rain didn’t materialise until the last rider had finished.  Jeff Wood was the fastest on the night with 23:17 just 1 sec ahead of Matt Heath [who was giving […]

A  cracking night despite the very mixed weather at the start of the day with wind and wet not promising favourable conditions. Emily Martin confirmed her great early season form by setting a Women’s course record of 22:41, taking 2nd place, Sam Taylor won the event overall with a 21:15 , only 25 secs from […]
