Posted on behalf of Tony Booth Started out from Northwich lead by Graham with his mate Martin, Steve, Stu, Mat, Dillon, Chris, Ewart, Bruce, and myself Tony. Sorry if I’ve for forgotten anyone! Well it was truly a ride which was expected to be straight forward to blaze farm and back! but we all know! this is […]

Gone fishin’
A chilly but bright Sunday morning promised much and the day certainly delivered. At the rugby club, bright eyed and bushy tailed were, Paul, Mark, Jules, another Paul, Colin, Geoff, Matt, one more Paul, Me and Dylan. Dylan was resplendent in a shiny new club jersey but he was a half an hour early as he was […]
Sunny Potter to Loggerheads
Beautiful spring sunshine and very little breeze; ideal ingredients for a deluge of long-run takers. Flooded with people, masses were expected. Well in fact Paul, Paul, Tigger, Stu, Craig and Me were the sole volunteers. A cheap version of the firemen in Trumpton but with worse hats. All raring to go we were though, up […]
Sunday Run to Holt
Either the new long run start time has not got through to everyone or people were put off by what the might weather might have been doing as it was supposed to be fiercely wet and windy today. As it was we were a very compact group at the rugby club this morning. Never mind […]
Sunny Sunday meander with a few lumps
I approached today’s club run with more than a little trepidation; aside from the Llanberis weekend, the last month has been pretty barren with regard to miles, in fact I have not touched my bike for the last 3 weeks. Anyway, whether I ended up a complete wreck by the end, a gorgeous early April day […]
Spring is here – don’t forget your clock
You can all look forward to long days in the saddle and earlier meeting times as from this Sunday 09:30 (26th March), but don’t forget to put your clocks forward, otherwise you’ll turn up late and miss the ride! Also, after some members who attend the long run asked to start even earlier, as from […]
Flash
During last Sunday’s epic, only for the brave and strong ride, I became aware that my wheels were in need of attention. The relentless freezing rain had got in to the hubs and washed away the lubrication, replacing it with a screaming mouse sound effect so I was aware that work was needed in the form […]
Super Snowy Loggerheads
With a looming Llanberis I fully expected a huge and heaving contingent this morning, dozens of excited and eager racing snakes looking to pile in some hilly miles, cyclists chomping at the bars to get some last minute distance in. Five. That was it, 5 poor unfortunate souls shivering in the porch of the rugby club. Including […]
Saturday Training Ride 25 February
I have a heavy week this coming week and so opted to not go on the hilly Saturday ride and headed straight for Hatchmere instead. From what I heard there were no takers at the club for the hilly ride anyway today. Llanberis must be in the air as by the time we set off, at […]
Sunday 26th long run
Change of plan from calendar. With LLanberis around the corner a hilly one would be good. Plan is to go to Llangollen and have lunch in the Butter Crust café. Then tackle the Horseshoe Pass on the way home. Great climb if you’ve not done it before!!
Loggerheads on sugar
All things considered (Llanberis panic training), it was a fairly small contingent at the Rugby Club on Sunday morning. The weather was really mild compared to recent weeks so it was set to be a nice clear day on the bike for all, with just a bit of wind to contend with. Having ridden 85 […]
5 go up Mam Tor
Jim, Geoff, Stuart, Christine, Mark, Kevin and me were at the gates this morning at 9.30. Destination, the No Car Cafe. I haven’t actually established whether, if you were to turn up in a car, you would be refused. Anyway, it’s a great place. This was a ride we did the week before Wild Wales last […]
