A tailwind down Penny’s Lane last night which is always a good things on this course. As a result we saw no less than 9 club riders setting PB’s from our of a field of 17 WVCC riders and 2 visitors. For the first time but I’m sure not the last we saw Sam Taylor […]

10 Mile Championship – 3rd July 2019
Fantastic turn-out for the 10 champs last night and probably one of our best ever in terms of number of riders and times recorded. Conditions were perfect and as a result we had a lot of PB’s and some very close placings. Second claim member and local Pro Matt Nowell posted a sizzling 21:03 but […]
M&DLCA 10 – 29/06/2019
The Manchester and District Ladies’ Cycling Association Ladies Open Handicapped and Men’s Invitation 10 mile Time Trial Course J2/3 Report: Emily Martin. Race Images: Adrian Japp Not a nice day for a TT today, we were all beading with sweat just putting our socks on in the 28 degree heat! Plus it was deceivingly windy […]
WVCC Club 10 – 26th June 2019
Quite a contrast in the weather from last week with heat and blue skies which attracted 20 starters on Wednesday. Clearly it was a good night as we saw several PB’s. Rapidly improving Andy Milligan took the honours with his 23:28 on the slower emergency course due to T-Lights at Lower Peover. Paul Connor and […]
Warrington Road Club 4 Up TT
I’m just on a wind down after a fantastic night on the bike, so thought I’d write a blog about how tonight’s team time trial went… I remember in 2016 heading out with Elaine to watch a team of Jim Duffy, Jim Williams, Chris Gilbertson and Jo Blakeley ride the same 4 up in a […]
WVCC Oulton Park 2019 Round 3 – 11th Jun
Again absolutely massive thanks to this crowd of judges plus the photographers and signers on. Who could have predicted that the weather would have been as bad as last week. Well it wasn’t, it was worse! Also thanks to motorbike Marshall’s and ambulance crew. Despite the atrocious weather we ran two successful races. Six hardy […]
Club 10’s – 2 up TTT – 5th June 2019
The popular 2-up was well supported last night and the conditions were also good. Probably for the first time ever the winning team was a mixed team with Emily and Sam putting out a scorching 22:47. 2nd team were Paul Longley and Dave Jones who were also fastest composite team with a time of 23:20. […]
WVCC Oulton Park 2019 Round 2 – 4th June
Well, the result of round 2 last night was a solid drenching of all the dedicated riders that turned out! Nevertheless, there was some excellent racing, especially in race 2, with a solo breakaway, that was never reeled in. Results and a few images below:
Club 10 – Round 4 – 29th May 2019
Once again I won’t comment about fair weather cyclists (actually I am:)), but from a turn out of 33 riders in the sun last Wednesday we had a very poor attendance of 7 riders this week. In reality it was warm and only lightly drizzling so the one’s who did turn up had a good […]
Club 10 – Round 2 – 15th May 2019
A great turn out last night with 30 signing on and then Mike Lodge promptly signing off after snapping a spoke (better luck next time Mike). No digs from me about fair weather cyclists but significantly more riders than last week on a dry sunny evening. I’ll cut to the chase with the results. Dave […]
WVCC Club 10’s – Practice 10 – 1st May 2
A great turn out for the first club 10 of the Year on Wednesday with 22 riders. Conditions were good with little wind and dry conditions following a short shower 1 hour before the start. A new season and some new names in the 10’s and some of these with obvious form. Winner on the […]
