A happy(?) bunch of judges and marshalls, enjoying the early English summer.
Again absolutely massive thanks to this crowd of judges plus the photographers and signers on. Who could have predicted that the weather would have been as bad as last week. Well it wasn’t, it was worse! Also thanks to motorbike Marshall’s and ambulance crew. Despite the atrocious weather we ran two successful races. Six hardy WVCC riders raced. I got first in my age group (O60s) but was beaten in the sprint by both John O’Mara and Shaun Roberts who both finished just outside the top three in the O 50s. In the young guns race Sam Taylor was very active throughout and got fourth in the sprint, Dave Walker was unusually quiet after a lively start finishing in the bunch as did Emily.
Well done all and thank you again everyone for supporting the events. See you all in the tropical weather we will get next year.

How many club members does it take to dress the President? Four. Two to help him with his hood, one to look on in amazement and one to photograph it.
Not too many smiles out there tonight.
Nothing nicer than being out there on your own in such delightful conditions.
Sam & Dave.
Sam & Dave.
9 more laps? You cannot be serious.
Tentatively round Old Hall Corner.
Onto the straight ready for another jolly lap.
Only 8 laps to go? …..
Dave opens wide and gets a refreshing drink.
The pace quickens. Riders dreaming of the warm and dry after the finish. None wanting too go on. None wanting to give up.
Still wet.
Relentless.
‘All I want is my settee, warmth, dry… and food. I’m Cat 2 dont’cha know?’ Thought Em, loudly, on lap n of n (number of laps are largely irrelevant on a night like this).
