Course J2/3

Report: Emily Martin. Race Images: Adrian Japp

Not a nice day for a TT today, we were all beading with sweat just putting our socks on in the 28 degree heat! Plus it was deceivingly windy on course.

Women’s results:
1. Claire Harrison – ProVision : 25:05
2. Emily Martin : 25:09
3. Jayne Dickens – ProVision : 25:15
We were all much slower than usual. Personally I really struggled with the heat, I felt much better on Wednesday. Bit disappointed to come second so narrowly.

I’m also slightly worried that this pair are gonna start kicking my ass… 😊
Lynsey Astles rode a fantastic PB equalling 26:42 and came 2nd in the handicap comp.
Carol Robson on her new speed cruiser PBd again with a 27:56 and 3rd in the handicap comp.

Men’s:
1. Joe Dobson – Manchester Bicycle Club : 21:35
2. Sir Sam Taylor : 22:10
3. Tristan Pilling – Team SB Hub : 22:25

Dave Walker 22:51 (decided to tie his chain in a knot round his derailleur half way round, which I don’t recommend)
Paul Connor 23:32 (I think that’s a fab ride in this heat, but given Paul spends his days swinging sledge hammers in the sun perhaps not a surprise)
Dan Robson 26:15 (is finding a new gear in fear of not being the fastest Robson I believe)

Today was an invitational with men and women paired for a mixed competition…
1. Sir Samuel and I!
2. Jayne Dickens & Mark Fenton (ProVision)
3. Diana Bite & Joe Dobson (Manchester BC)

Big loves for the on course shouts to the Fearons, Perretts and Japps of this world.
