Clocks go forward – summer club...

Yes girls and boys, as long as it isn’t wet, you can ditch your mudguards and come along half an hour earlier than normal! Clocks go forward this weekend, and we’ll be meeting at 09:30 from now till the clock go back again.

Spin Cycling Festival – Free ti...

If you are interested or already intending to go to the Spin Cycling Festival in Manchester at the start of May – stop – don’t buy tickets! The organisers have offered free tickets to Weaver Valley CC members. All you need to do is drop me an email, and I’ll send you a code that you […]

M&DTTA – Call for voluntee...

Please take some time to read the latest M&DTTA newsletter below, and see if you can assist in keeping the sport alive locally. All such cycling events are manned by volunteers, and there are fewer and fewer new volunteers stepping up to take part and contribute in keeping our great discipline of time-trialling alive. Manchester […]

Sunny days? Fresh air? Easy cycling? ...

Well I’ll tell you. There was only the slightest ‘cool’ to the air this morning, and as we gathered at the club amongst the usual throng of kids and adults about to play rugby, the sun popped out to say ‘hi’, as it did last week as well. Most odd. Two groups headed out in […]

Delamere – in the gloop

It was a very nice day. Cool, but in the sun, pleasantly warm. Off with the gilet after only a couple of miles and onto join the lads off road for a change, in my attempt to start to get some fitness back. Jim looked surprised as he overtook me on the way up Kingsley […]

How very civilised. Short run 28/02/2...

Let us for a moment ponder the climatic differences of last week to this: Yeah. Slightly different. This week the long run group headed off to Prees with a healthy number of riders, all keen to keep the Llanberis legs exercised. The short run was however to offer a more civilised and amenable approach. We […]

Llanberis. Brutal. Need I say more..?

Well I suppose I must, so here is a bit of a photo blog. There was a sense of foreboding on social media in the days before, given the weather forecast as the weekend approached. I popped up to Hatchmere for a quick roll call of the early leavers there, and was greeted by a bunch […]

Llanberis 2016 – update

As many will know, we had a bit of last minute drama after we found out that the cafe at Ruthin Craft Centre had closed, which is where we were due to stop for the feeding frenzy before heading onwards to Denbigh! Not to worry though, as Jim, Alan and Syd sought out the Seven […]

It’s all downhill from hereR...

..especially if you are one of the many who tried to get the crown from last year’s freewheel winner Jamie, by trying to freewheel down a different hill this year. On the club run out on Sunday, a stop was made at the top of the hill just past Brines Brow car park in Delamere, and […]

Llanberis 2016… Are you ready?

For those who have booked for Llanberis 2016, you should all have had your guide emailed to you. If not, please contact Jim Williams – jim@weavervalleycc.org.uk or me – ady@weavervalleycc.org.uk – to make sure you have all of the details. I have attached a shortened version of the document (which does not have you room […]

To Holt, or aaaarrrghhhhhh Llanberis&...

Yes, it is that time of year. We need the miles (especially me). It didn’t feel that time of the year though. Those turning up, stopped, uttered words like ‘Phew’, ‘too hot’ or started putting sun tan lotion on. Okay, not that last bit, but it was unseasonably warm on Sunday and many were over-dressed. […]

Northwich Police and WVCC team up aga...

According the the ImmobiTag web site – see www.immobitag.com – there is a bike stolen every 71 seconds in the UK. That’s a lot of bikes, and the pride and joy of many a cyclist. Insurance often doesn’t cover everything, and most of us love our bikes and would much prefer to have them returned […]

As a club, we’d like to wish Andrew Simpson @simmo_on_sport all the best for the future, with a heartfelt thanks for supporting WVCC all these years....
