So, who won? Well, if you have been following the results trend over the last few weeks, you’ll have seen that Dave Wilkinson has been improving steadily over the year, enabling him to maximise his points. By last week, only Rich Munro could get near. This was not to be though, as Dave did enough, and improved on his PB Β and take maximum points in fine style on the night. Rich gave him a run for his money though, so it wasn’t an easy win.

Therefore, congratulations go to Dave Wilkinson as our 2016 Guardian Cup Winner, with 120 points, closely chased by Rich Munro in 2nd with 118 points, and Steve Marlow in 3rd with 109 points.

Points for round 10 of the Guardian CupΒ were as follows:

A pint in the pub, and the Guardian Cup Winner for 2016, looking a bit perplexed, along with Β Rich, a very close 2nd, making sure that Dave didn’t get an easy win!

The Final Fling

The Final Fling is a free, fun affair Β just to finish your season offΒ (enough f’s?), and on a pleasant summer evening, 22 riders gathered to have a light hearted bit of fun (yes, we still call this fun…).

To make it more interesting, as riders signed on, each took a ticket with a random handicap value on, meaning that you could, by getting a good handicap and riding well, be a winner and get a bottle of wine (never a bad thing).

The fastest times on the night went to an absolutely flying Jo Blakeley, with a 24:31 – followed by a sickening commentary of how she could have easily gone faster, and hadn’t really been training anyway…!! Chris Gilbertson was a close 2nd with a 24:48, and Matthew Lovelady 3rd with 25:03.

With the random handicaps, Emily Martin clinched the prize bottle of vino, with a corrected time of 21:31, ahead of Dan Robson and that Munro fellah again!

Results for the Final Fling are therefore below, sorted if you wish by any of the columns to see where the finishers were in scratch times or handicap times.
