A bright and cool night greeted the riders competing for the glory of the Club 25. Spirits were high, and the Lee appeared(!) Everyone knew that they were racing for 2nd place. 🙂
A slight headwind along Penny’s Lane would mean that times would be gained on the fast run along the A530 – King Street during the 2 laps of this part of the circuit.
Riders flew off the start, and even by the first turning at Moss Lane it was apparent that the top 3 were on a mission. Lee, Jim and Alistair all made fast and steady progress along the course, and by the end, they were to stay in this order in time, giving us our top Gold – 54:56, Silver 57:38 and Bronze 59:40 for this year’s Club 25 Championship!
Well done to all competitors, some who will also be riding the same course for our open 25 on the 6th August.
