WVCC Club 10s – Guardian Cup Ro...

A slightly more pleasant evening this week as the wind was a little more favourable, with a tailwind start, and a cross wind on the A50, but it’s never easier, you just go faster or push yourself harder! Fast men tonight were those flying into the 23s, with Jacob Booth from Team Bikehaus taking the […]

Have your say – a Rights of Way...

Cheshire West and Chester Council are to create a new Rights of Way Improvement Plan. They are carrying out a short online survey to get public feedback – your chance to tell them what you think about footpaths, bridleways, etc. in our area. It would be really useful to get feedback from the cycling community! Please find the link […]

The familiar unfamiliar, big cakes, l...

It was a cooler than expected start to the day as I left home for the club. I left my arm warmers on and did a few miles of spinning to get the legs warm. Fortunately, as I neared the club, glimmers of blue sky did appear in the distance, although the wind kept things […]

WVCC Club 10s – Guardian Cup Ro...

In stark difference to the week before, the weather was dry but the wind was in an entirely different direction. This made for a very hard night for most, and there weren’t many who were gaining time on the night, with a crosswind off the start, and a headwind along the A50 for what seemed like […]

WVCC Oulton Park Race Series

The dates for this year’s Oulton Park Race Series are now on the calendar and live on the TLI web site. Just look in the calendar for June 7th, 14th and 21st for full details. There is a link to the TLI web site where you can book your tickets in advance (always preferable, and […]

VTTA – Manchester & NW Gro...

Hello Everyone At the last AGM of Manchester & NW Group of the Veterans Time Trials Association, we had a discussion about the desirability of letting more competitive cyclists aged 40+ know about the VTTA and so we have put together the attached A5 promotional leaflet. VTTA Manchester & NW Group Flier Thanks and best wishes Brian […]

New cafe stop, new riders to feed

New cafe stop, new riders to feed

It was a very good day for a ride for those new to road cycling with a group, and so we had four who turned up today to see what we are about. Three ladies, Lynn (who had been out with us once before), Nikki, and Debbie, and a returning ex-WVCC member in the form […]

Mow Cop, the not club run

The weather was too nice, so it had to be a day off. A shout out on Faceache, and a few others joined the fray. Em, who also booked the day off work, and Jim and Syd, official wrinklies, who booked a day off being retired and joined me for a bit of a reconnaissance ride […]

Club 10s – Practice 10 – ...

What a beautiful night for hurting yourself on a club TT! None of the hailstone and changeable weather of last week, just sunshine, and a breeze to help you along the A50, (but against you on the way home). 29 riders came out to test their mettle and some very good times were recorded. The […]

Club 10s – Gents 2 up 27/04/201...

Hay-ho, the wind and the rain, and the hail and another three season day… The first club TT of the season is always a bit of fun. Loads of early season anticipation, and an ideal time to ride a two-up time trial and ease yourself into the race of truth! We were joined by Robbi Unwin this […]

Cafe? I see no Cafe!

A cool and bright sunny morning had us battling through the crowds at the rugby club to get to the club for this morning’s runs. The crowds were for a host of rugby matches held today. The long run was due to go to Loggerheads, but no-one seemed enthusiastic about taking it, so we split the […]

Une belle journée et un tour de cycle...

A beautiful and a lovely cycle ride… (excuse my French). Chilly, bright, a good day for a beginner’s ride, and a few beginners turned out, as well as a returning beginner and a young lady called Shelagh, who made a welcome return to the Sunday run to brighten the day further. We headed out through […]

As a club, we’d like to wish Andrew Simpson @simmo_on_sport all the best for the future, with a heartfelt thanks for supporting WVCC all these years....
