The threatening thunderstorms held off so the brave few who turned up actually enjoyed quite a good night. Also it hammered is down after the event so everybody went home happy. Jim Duffy put out another good ride but most excited finisher was Alison who beat 2 people tonight and well and truly rubbed Dave […]

Club 10 Mile Championship – 12th July 20
As it is the shortest fixed distance the 10 is usually the most popular and therefore the most hotly contested of our championships. Last night there were a lot of missing faces but nevertheless we still had 13 Weaver Valley riders and this was supplemented by 8 riders from other clubs. My old club the […]
Guardian Cup Round 7 – 5th July 2017
A clear, sunny and warm evening with barely a whiff of a breeze was almost perfect for some fast times. Indeed, despite some pre-race excuses, Jim Duffy stormed around the course for a mid 22, whilst others had the cup in their sights, determined to grab valuable seconds to convert to points. For the Guardian […]
Guardian Cup and Scratch 10s results aft...
More controversial than Peter Sagan’s elbow, there have had to be some adjustments to the overall and cumulative points standings due to an error in recording the PBs from last year. Fortunately, I’m not going to be thrown off the tour, and the results have been corrected. Fewer riders were out last week, and therefore […]
Guardian Cup Round 6 – 28th June 2017
I think the drizzle put a few people off last week as we only had a turnout of 9 riders and just 7 from the club. However those lucky few who did ride gained some great points towards the Guardian Cup and the new 10 mile scratch series trophy. Jim Williams also started but hit […]
M&DLCA Invitation 10 – 1st July 2017
As Caroline and I would be busy organising the M&DTTA 100 on Sunday we thought we’d better do some exercise this weekend so entered the Manchester Ladies invitation TT at Chelford. Ladies (the old fashioned name for a Female), ride the event on their own but pair up with a gentleman (old fashioned name for […]

M&DTTA 100 (inc Club Champs) – 2nd July
You will recall this time last year, Dave Fearon took the Gold in the club Championships by just 1 second, that wasnt going to happen this year as he opted not to ride, leaving Just Alistair and me to contest it. Dave Fearon does an excellent job of organising this event, it is a thankless […]
Seamons CC RR 27 June
Last night Tony Booth and myself rode the old man’s Seamons CC Road Race at Siddington, Matt Ellis was in the Junior event. 3 laps of the Congleton circuit in changeable weather. I started reasonably, had a couple of digs towards the end of the first lap, both of which were brought back. Tony went […]
M&DTTA 50 Championship – WVCC champs
Don’t we cyclists complain a lot about the cold & wet weather? Saturday the Sun God took control and boy did we complain…..phew what a scorcher! WVCC had 5 entrants in the M&DTTA 50 champs but the main prize from our side was the Weaver Valley CC club 50 champs. Would Jim Duffy finally take his […]
Club 10 – 14th June
PLEASE NOTE : Wednesday nights TT has been cancelled due to road works, please also note, as a result of this, the final fling will now be a counter.
2-up TTT – 7th June 2017
Sorry for the late report, life has been getting in the way! Contrary to rumours starting from a wind-up last week, this TT did not count for the Guardian Cup, for those who rode it solo. It did however produce some interesting results, particularly from the 3-up of Hunt / Hassall & Langridge who produced a […]
