I think the drizzle put a few people off last week as we only had a turnout of 9 riders and just 7 from the club. However those lucky few who did ride gained some great points towards the Guardian Cup and the new 10 mile scratch series trophy. Jim Williams also started but hit a pothole and hit the deck when his tri-bars tilted forward and slammed his front brake on! He was a bit cut up but nothing too serious fortunately.
Visitor Mike Jones of the Congleton CC was fastest with a 23:57 followed by Colin Carthy with a 26:08 taking the 25 points towards the scratch series. Guardian Points and Scratch series points update will follow in the next few days. Make sure you turn up tomorrow for the 7th round as there aren’t that many rounds left. Next week will be the club 10 championship on the same course at the same time so get it in your diary.
