At 09:55, I turned up at the legion, to see a lonely club run leader. I had already battled the first 12 miles of the day into the wind, and did expect a few more attendees for the comp. and to get the extra miles in. Most probably had the sense to go out on […]

A Sunday run with a difference…
Well today was a bit different: a few of us entered the Tatton Yule Yomp, a 10k cross country run around Tatton Park. Our team comprised Tim Rutherford, Nick and Ann, Kev, me and our daughter Nicola, Jules, Jim Duffy and Bruce. Other than Bruce, with whom we hadn’t shared the plan (sorry Bruce!) we all […]
Cyclo Cross Sat 19 Oct Greenbank
Another successful event due to the fantastic help and support of so many WVCC members. The change from Sunday to Saturday seemed to go down well – club members can still enjoy their Sunday Run (although the weather might not be as good – thank goodness we got packed up before the thunderstorm!). Full results and a report […]

Mercia CC 30 – 7th September 2013
Today 3 of the Fearons went medal hunting in a 30 mile time trial at Etwall. Jack, Caroline and I are all 30 mile virgins unless you count me riding the old Westwood 30 on a tandem when I was a junior (Incidentally the now defunct Westwood RCC from Worsley was my first ever club […]
The “not a club hill climb” club run
A beautiful day for a club run with a difference. Forty or so of us set out from the British Legion (including what I think was a record eight women: Carol, Caroline, Elaine, Penny, Fiona, Nikki, Emily and me). We headed off in two groups towards the cobbled climb at Bollington – all went well in my […]

Hit the North 4
Matthew, Kev and I rode in Hit the North 4 yesterday – a BC supported mountain bike race in Philips Park, Whitefield. We had a lovely sunny day for it, and the route was fab – with some new stretches of manufactured trail, complete with berms, bumps and swoopy sections. The course also featured “The […]
Cyclo Cross 21 October
A glorious calm, sunny day made the event all the more enjoyable. The addition of a butty and burger van along with proper car parking helped with the smooth running of the event. 105 riders contested the main race around an extended, more challenging course at the usual venue of Greenbank, Northwich. Paul Bethell (Team Elite) led […]
