A brief report tonight I promise. Gareth and Andy Newby had a go off the front in the young ‘uns race but didn’t get anywhere. Nick had a go off the front in the over 40s race but also didn’t get anywhere. Mark Thompson had a go off the front in the over 60s race but he didn’t get anywhere either. I hid at the back in the same race so wasn’t ever going to get anywhere anyway. Alan Kemp, hobbling and in pain with a very bad back, had a go off the front in the over 60s race and won. You’ve either got it or you haven’t I suppose!
Kevan and Richard M marshalled and Dave Astles and Chas provided welcome vocal support.
Eleanor.

The 40-50's race numbers were down a bit with only about 18 in the bunch. But it was still a very lively race with lots of attacks going away, all seemed to include John Eddols of BNECC who has the engine of diesel train which just won't stop. First lap he was away with Steve Davies,Simon Boone and I almost got with them, but not quite.
John went away for what must have been his sixth attempt on the final lap and held on to the finish where the bunch contested a very messy sprint as several long attacks went from 1km out. Think I was 7th or 8th behind Steve Davies and the work-shy Booney!
