And who did I meet this morning at the track? No less a person than Mark Cavendish, who was hanging around with his bike in full Columbia kit in reception. He recognised me immediately and told me how impressed he was with my recent form. I told him that my family and I are his biggest fans – and that we used to think flat stages were boring before he came on the scene. He said that yes, he could hear us shouting for him when he was sprinting. I said he made it all look really easy and he responded “believe me it’s not”. He looked wonderful in his yellow and white kit, almost as good (but not quite) as our own yellow and white Les Charnley. I was going to challenge him to a race on the track but decided not to as I didn’t want to humiliate him. He was really nice, and was very tolerant and patient when I asked him for his autograph – I think he was going to ask me for mine but didn’t: he probably didn’t want to invade my privacy.
Eleanor.

Hi Eleanor, Yes I did have my full Columbia Yellow and white kit on when I rode last Sunday in a 106 mile sportive in North Wales, Dave Lloyd managed to catch me, and he called me Mark Cavindish, WHO IS THIS IMPOSTER, from what I can understand from research is that the difference between us, is that I am a good sprinter. ( Thanks for the mention, will await more fan mail). Take care Les
Lucky sod, would love to meet Cavendish. I wear my Columbia Yellow jersey with pride around the roads of Cheshire!
