In their words, round two is going to be off the Richter Scale and will go down in the history books as the hardest track in the U.K to race on. Steve Parr and his trail fairies have officially set the bench mark and completed a master piece.
The course drops 1,000 feet and is super steep. Imagine the steepest and most technical sections from your favourite tracks, Champery, Glen Coe, Mynth Duu, Strathyre, Dunkeld, Goats Gully and Fort William Woods all in one track, without a break and no let up. The only pedalling you will do is three strokes off the start line and that is it.
Read all about it at http://www.npsdh.com/ We’ll meet at Llandegla Mountain Bike Centre at 10am for a lap or two of the black route before heading off to Llangollen to see the timed runs.
meet you there at ten – probs only do a lap though cos my bike’s suffering with ‘cranky crank’ at the moment.
Wow Nick, that blog entry reads just like a professionally written promotional piece…..
Not going to be able to make Sunday I’m afraid.
Hey, less of the sarcasm or I’ll be nominating YOU for off road sec at the AGM! I did say “in their words” though. I’d have copied some of the pics too but they weren’t up to much – just very steep looking hillside which looks imposible to ride down! Should be good spectator sport.
Sounds good! Sorry we can’t make it, we’re in Cheltenham for the weekend…
great weather and great location for a bit of one-to-one tuition from 'nitro' nick butterworth. as for the downhill it was me, myself and I, but, it was well worth a look in. it would appear that to enter the downhill races requires two prerequisits; a bike worth a good few grand and to be a rider that's a certified mentalist.
Wow great pic Andy – is that you in a WVCC top at long last or a snazzy bit of photoshopping?!
erm…… ok, the latter
Matthew, Mike, Alan from BNECC on his cross bike and I had an enjoyable couple of hours around the forest, despite the rain on Saturday.
It wasn't even that muddy, although the tree roots were very slippery. The tree canopy kept off the worst of the rain and wind, with the cafe providing welcome shelter for coffee and cakes.
sounded good – and if anyone sees ross or if indeed ross you're reading this, then you may have won a prize – check out the gallery on the brownsback racing site
Yes it's a brilliant pic of you Ross. Well spotted Andy – you're obviously spending too much time surfing the net.
Fame at last!!
