Many eager faces turned up at Hartford legion on what looked to be set for a glum and possibly rainy day. Jules had organised a longer ride to the Mills and had only 5 takers for this run. As usual the short run set off first at a steady but not slow pace heading out through Weaverham and the rollercoaster that is Delemere the group stuck together for a lot of the ride until we got to Chester and up the hill where there was a few attacks to ‘test legs’. When we got to the junction and turned left and into the heart of Chester we were informed that elliot on his new clipless pedals had fallen off at the junction. Picking him self up and soldiering on we set off down past the river front all again sticking together when we got a few calls of half a rev. the group decided that it would be best to form two groups that of a faster and a slower group. Both groups got to the café having 2 bunch sprints for the café and then onto the copious amounts of beans on toast.

The return leg saw us yet again in 2 groups with one faster group and one slower. The faster group, which had me, Rob, Elaine halfwheel Mossman, Vince and 3 others, which I cant recall the names of held a brisk pace all the way until we once again got to the Delemere rollercoaster where a strong pace was set and the prestigious sprint for the sign. With a little regroup at Hatchmere we set back off into a slight spitting of rain and back home. A very good day in the saddle!
