Thanks to Alan Silver for this run report…
A good turn out lead by Alan despite the cold & damp 19 in total All set off in the same direction but within 4 miles the first of many punctures ,Dave Astles the first victim and in heavy rain, Kevan,Alan Kemp,Kevin Campbell,Dane & Dave Fearon had a more pressing appointment with the hills so carried on with their ride. After a short distance our group caught the 5, yes one had a puncture Dane i think, but the other side of the forest they appeared again, so there was a group of 19 again but as speed & age kicked in the gap got bigger & bigger therefore after collecting Gary Brown at the junction of A556 at Aston the short group carried on to The Blue Moon on the Dee at Chester. Plenty of room in a nice warm cafe and the service was fast gave way to a hasty return home but the long way via the river & Conners Quay cycle way & old railway line cycle path that Ian had tested for us a while ago. This is when more trouble started ,Jedd with what we thought may have been a broken rim but no! then me with a puncture, then Ian with a puncture so after all the stops the tail wind was a good advantage as the short ride that normally gets home around 2-3pm ended the day 3.30 onwards.
