Sun 27th June:Kids run to Two Mills – thanks Claire for this report…
Only six of us set out today, including Connor, Robert and Elinor. We quickly felt the heat as we climbed through Kingsley and over the top at Newton towards Mickle Trafford, bound for Two Mills. We took a new part of the cycleway from Guilden Sutton to Shotwick, and it was great to see how much it had expanded and improved. As we made our through Woodbank to Eureka Cafe, we were passed by Dylan and three other riders. This meant that there was a good crowd of Weaver Valley members to have a long coffee stop together. The children were joined by James, who had arrived with another group, so five of them sat under the shade of a tree, well away from their parents! On the way back, we took the railway path at Capenhurst, and travelled towards Dunham and Manley Mere. It would not be the kids run without a few minor falls – you know who you are! The final part of the route home was pleasingly quiet, as most people were by now watching the England football game. Thank you Dave for leading the kids on one of the most popular club routes, and one that avoids traffic for much of the way!
