If you think Delamere Forest is all firetracks and too easy…… come along and we’ll show you some trickier bits! Loads of flowing singletrack too.
Something for everyone. All abilities welcome. Bike hire from tracs by the visitors centre if you need it. http://tracs-uk.co.uk/
Meet at the station cafe at 10am as usual for a couple of hours or so, then a bit more after lunch for those who fancy it.
A good ride for the 7 of us who braved the mud. Video shows Andy on the notorious bridge!
should be great with all this rain we've had – looking forward it
Nick's right there is so much more to the forest than you realise.
Great ride Nick, thanks for that and I got home with no injuries!
Glad you enjoyed it Richard. Hope you don't mind the video Andy, but none of my photos came out and I thought the video was quite humorous.
4 of us carried on for a bit more after lunch and by the time I got home around 2.45pm I was well tired – you don't get much rest riding through thick mud. Talking of which, how did the cyclo cross go Kev, El, Ross?
I'm glad you were tired too Nick, I was knackered by the time I got in just before 3. Amazing how easily the mud just washed off the bike though – thankfully, as I needed a lie down.
Revoloution at the velodrome was great, with loads of big names racing, and as is becoming a habit of mine I bumped into the Fearons too!
Great video Nick – Andy you're a super-star! I thought your toes-nearly-in-the-water performance was nicely subtle and understated, you wouldn't want to go for the obvious over-the-handlebars crash would you!
In answer to your question Nick I won the ladies' race and £10! I could get rich if I took this more seriously! Johnny McEvoy won the men's so I was in good company – except he came 1st and I came 60th overall which puts it all into perspective. None of the really fast women were there so I knew I had a chance and I had a real battle with two other girls – we kept overtaking each other over the first few laps which was exhausting but I had the advantage of brakes that didn't work which helped me along a bit. (Scary though, going down those hills with drop handlebars and no brakes – give me a mountain bike any day!) Didn't see Ross incidentally?
Well done El! That's great, but I should get your mechanic to sort those brakes out – talking of which – how did Kev do? I might ride at Rhyl on 20th as no one else can make Macc Wheelers Supercross on 27th.
By the way Andy – glad you've got the hang of those SPD's! Otherwise you could have been on You've Been Framed.
great trails and great day – pity that those gremlins in my brakes got the better of me in the end. loved the video – very funny – you should make more use of that video upload feature. and you're right nick, if you ever need a reason to have your spuds on the softest setting – watch the vid! thanks again and probs see you at cannock
Anyone interested in the Isle of Man End to End race in September? Kev and I have entered – it looked good when we watched it on Eurosport last year.

will there be any log bridges crossing small streams?
I spoke to the organiser and he said they had lots planned, but they watched the video and now they know how good you are at them he's removed them all, he said otherwise you'd have an unfair advantage…
