After enjoying a circuit of the Llandegla black trail, on our final run back into the centre Chas had a very bad fall. He was taken to Wrexham Hospital where he's being treated for back injuries. The three of us who were also out on the ride, Andy B, Kev C and I wish him all the best.

We all hope and wish that Chas has a speedy recovery. Chas is in Wrexham High Dependency Unit and anyone wishing for an update on Chas's condition should contact Nick Butterworth through either the website or call on 01606 76171. Please try not to call Chas's family as we all appreciate that this is a stressful time for them.
Nick, Graham and Ann.

Thanks for your good wishes here, by text and on the phone. I'll pass them on to Chas and I'm sure he'll appreciate them. Just to confirm that I'm happy for anyone to phone me for an update on his progress and to agree on visiting times - so we don't flood him one day and have no-one visit the next. I'll get down to the clubroom Mon 21 Feb too, by which time his injuries should have been clarified.

Chas was a little more comfortable today and is due to be moved to Oswestry in the next day or so. I'll keep you updated and pass on all the good wishes.

Been to see Chas tonight and he is reasonably comfortable considering, but hasn't been moved to Oswestry. Please give me a call (01606 76171) if you want to visit so we can co-ordinate and also to check where he is. It's still too early to say how severe his injuries are, and how they will be treated, so it's still fingers crossed that he will make a full recovery.

Chas was moved to the specialist spinal hospital at Oswestry today. It's one of only a few centres of excellence in the country so he is in the best possible hands. He says things are looking good but it might be a long haul and he thanks everyone for their concern and good wishes.

Visiting hours are fairly flexible, but please check with me first - 01606 76171 or 07733 121505

Thanks everyone for your good wishes, I'll pass them on to Chas. He's making sound progress but will be laid up on his back for some time yet, so anyone able to visit would provide welcome relief from the boredom of straring at the ceiling I'm sure. Please get in touch with me if you want to visit and I'll let you know where to find him and the best time to go 01606 76171 07733 121505

Popped in to see Chas last night. He is going to be in Oswestry for 6 weeks he reckons, lying flat on his back - but he is very accepting and positive, and is confident he'll make a good recovery. Anyway I got the impression that as Nick says, he'd love visitors - he has to look at the same ceiling tile 24/7 so anything that relieves the boredom and making the 6 weeks go quicker will help! But do go through Nick as per the post above.
