Hi Eleanor & Kev
I maybe able to compliment your skills. Marginally smarter than a 10 yr old, specialist subject NHS catering unfortunately I have no knowledge of accidents. Can I fill one of your seats?
Derek
Yes great Derek count yourself in - you sound just right for our team!
Hi Eleanor, just read your appeal for team members, on reflection this will not be necessary as you and kevans CV look completely 100% designed for this quiz with FIRST PRIZE guaranteed, I will have the ten foot high trophy engraved this coming weekend with your names on it and the £25,000 cheque made out in joint names.Just keep this under your hat but it may be advantageous to brush up on the GREATEST wins of LES CHARNLEY, there could be about 50 questions, I can say no more..
Jack is back from his girlfriends house now and he said he would come so team Fearon is complete.
I will be bringing the club kit to the quiz night, so don't forget your cheque books! 😀
As a last minute decision, and not having a) entered a team or b) joined a team, and as a social event, can I pitch up on the night, with my wife, and either form a small team, or latch onto a team with superior knowledge?
I am sure that will work, Adrian! Do come along! Also, I have a spare place in my team. I have so far: Me, son Robert, Elaine, and ?. Volunteers welcome!
Hi Everyone, Just to carify things, everyone is welcome to the quiz, When it was held before people teamed up on the night, so its very laid back. You do not have to have a team in place to enter, just turn up and take part. Hope to see you all on Monday night. Try to get there for 7.45 if possible, so I can assess to highest bribe. Les
will try to come along. might even ride there . is it hartford legion?
Sorry Les - due to severe Man Flu I am spending the evening in bed. Hope the quiz goes well
Nick
Thank you, Les, for an excellent quiz night last night! My team ended up with the trophy for last - I think that it is the only trophy I will be winning in the foreseeable future!
The quiz was brilliant fun, and Les had obviously gone to a lot of trouble to find some really difficult questions! It is really bugging me that I didn't get the right answer to the question 'What is the highest pass in the Tour de France?' I knew it, (it was where that young kid got to the top first then fell down the steep hillside!) but I just couldn't retrieve the information from my brain on the night. It was 'Col de la Bonnette'....Aaaarghhhh!
The top end was very close - about 3 teams within a point of each other - I am sure that they will want a re-match at some stage! Well done the Underhill's team, and bad luck to the Fearons team for being so close but missing out on the final sprint!
Thanks Les for last night. Really enjoyed it, but will have to read up on my cycling history for next year 😀
Have a great Christmas and thanks again.
P.S No, since no one in my team has been cycling for more than 3 years, we didn't know who was marshalling in the Boxing Day fancy dress club '10' at Seven Sister's Lane in 1957!!! 😉
Hi Claire, sorry if it caused any unset, its was just a bit of fun which was intended for an average mix of 5 adult members in ateam. Having attended the quiz's Rob put on, I can not remember there being any members children present. Its sometimes difficult therefore to think on your feet and assess the situation and the fall out when in your mind you have a set of parameters and arrange a light hearted event. It would appear your team was mostly youngters and therefore did very well and pass any my apologies for my adult slip up. I will not be doing the quiz again, so hope they will not be put off next year if anyone else has a go at running it. Regards Les
Hi Les,
Only joking! We loved it!!!!!! Thank you so much for putting the quiz on! It is only a shame we only do this once a year! Next time we will swot up a bit more - or invite a Fearon on to our team! 😀
Many thanks again and Happy Christmas!
Claire
P.S. An impressive £600 of club kit got sold too!
