Following the closure of the legion as our usual Monday evening meet and normal Sunday morning gathering, we’ve been searching for a new home. Temporarily, we’ve used Winnington Rec, but I’m pleased to announce that as from Sunday 14th September 2014, we’ll have our home at Winnington Park Rugby Football Club, Burrows Hill, Hartford. Therefore, this Sunday, we’ll meet there for our Sunday rides. There is a Google Map link on the home page to check the location if you’re not sure where this is.
This is a great multi-sport venue, currently home to the rugby team, and hosting hockey as well. It’s a perfect home for us, giving us a meeting place on Sunday (including the use of the toilets and facilities available), and giving us a nice environment (with a bar!) that we can use to meet in for our informal social gathering.
The only real change is that we’ll now meet on a Tuesday evening for our usual informal social meet. As it’s our AGM next Tuesday evening – 16th, we’ll next meet at the new venue on the 23rd September 2014. Therein after, this will be the default meeting place for Sunday rides and the social side of things.
Winnington Park RFC have been very kind in inviting us to share their facilities, and it’ll be great partnership for the future. It’s also only round the corner from our current meeting place, so shouldn’t cause any disruption for us.
