What do you call a mushroom at a disco? Fun guy. If you want to hear jokes as bad as this, come out on a Wednesday ride. If you don’t, you’re better riding on your own, or alternatively just don’t ride next to Gary Brown!
17 riders, yet another lovely sunny day, beautiful spring countryside and quiet lanes through Beeston, up Gallantry Bank, then a road I’ve not ridden before past Egerton Green (with quite a long climb up to Hampton Post) and onto Malpas.
A nice cafe – food 7/10, cakes 11/10, toilet 6/10.
I ended up with Keith, Jed, Dave and Gary B (yes more bad jokes) on the way back, we enjoyed the fast section through Peckforton and then Jed, Keith and Dave left us to do a few more miles and Gary and I eventually called a truce 0n both the jokes and the speed front.
Man of the match to Keith for his accelerations up hills (not sure I should encourage him really) and woman of the match award to Claire who’s getting stronger every week.
