A very windy ride. We’d intended to go to the Ellesmere Port Boat Museum but it was closed, so we ended up at Two Mills. Jed (on two wheels for once) and Ian led us out most of the way into a strong headwind – they kept a good steady pace. This was not a day for fair-weather cyclists which is presumably why only the hardy bunch turned up! We got wet on the way out but things did improve on the way back and we even saw a square metre of blue sky at one stage.
On the way back Gary D attempted to mix it a bit, with Dave Astles and Jed rising magnificently to the challenge – Gary heads off for the Lake District next week and we wish him well. Despite the conditions we had an enjoyable and challenging day but we can understand why so many club colleagues have chosen to head off for Majorca next week!
As a club, we’d like to wish Andrew Simpson @simmo_on_sport all the best for the future, with a heartfelt thanks for supporting WVCC all these years....
