Well they say pictures speak louder than words so I’ll let the pics do the talking!
Pic 1 – at Common Barn above Rainow, enjoying the sunshine and the views…12 of us made it
Pic 2 – at the top of the “2 arrows plus 1 arrow” hill above Langley Reservoir…
Pic 3 – Dave Fearon collapses having climbed the above-mentioned hill on his fixed 74″ gear bike. Lou, having himself climbed the hill at breakneck speed, just manages to come to a stop within millimetres of causing a nasty accident…
looks fun. shame i couldn’t make it

Really enjoyable ride today in fantastic scenery and perfect weather conditions and all not too far from home. All led very capably by Kevan who`s route planning was spot on and we did not lose anybody.
Great cafe stop at the Common Barn with lovely scenery there as well!
Got home in plenty of time to see a very tough stage of the Giro on the telly.
I learned a new race tactic today from a stranger. A racer in top gear flew past our strung out line of Weavers. I do not think he let on to us so I chased him and sat behind him. He flicked his arm a few times as though he had a nervous twitch although deep down I knew he wanted me to work with him. In desperation he turned around, took note of which side I was on and then he emptied what must have been the entire contents of his nose onto me.
To add insult to injury as I cleared my face I then missed the left turn at Withington Green and had to chase for 2 or 3 miles to Twemlow with 3 others before regaining the club and our racer friend who was in their midst! He then turned off before I could make friends with him !
All in all though a really good ride , thanks Kevan.

If Carlsberg did rides…….. Great ride yesterday, and the sight of Dave collapsed on the road after his massive effort, priceless!!!!!
