10 riders on what turned out to be a lovely warm sunny day (never believe the weatherman). We headed straight over to Primrose Wood via Pale Heights and some of the recently discovered (for us) singletrack.
Everyone seemed to enjoy it despite some fairly tough climbs and it being a bit boggy in places. On the way back Ross introduced us to the new sport of bouldering on a bike. Needless to say, he was the only one who managed to ride up some huge rock steps.(By the way the video I took earlier didn't come out – again! Send me yours Ross and I'll post it on here) Thanks everyone for turning out and keep your eye on this blog for details of the weekend in the N Lakes 20/21 March
Good to see you had a good time, me and Rob decided to go for a run instead around Peckforton and came back to a foggy Crewe. Looking forward to the weekend up at N Lakes.
Nick, March 21st plan coincides with an enduarance MTB event at Whinlatter, so that may not be open to the public that weekend. Acommodation likely to be busy too.
Good ride today, I do like going over the Primrose Wood side of the forest.
The Challenge ride is Sunday http://www.whinlatterchallenge.co.uk/and costs £25, so we could do that, or just ride the trails Saturday and go and do our own thing on Sunday (saving £25 each). I have provisionally booked the bunkhouse at Stybeck for Sat only.
Sorry I missed out on this one. Decided to get some road miles in with the Saturday "crew". About 12 of us went to Loggerheads Country park, via the Rainbow, and tried out an alternative route around Chester to see if it was easier than going through the town en route to Llanberis. At the last count there are 52 riders booked. Don't think it really worked though, and it puts about 5 miles onto the journey. The journey back was a bit brisk, but fun, and so opted for couple of hours at Llandegla on Sunday. Just a couple of things to report 1.The jumps section at the start look like it is fully open. 2.2 bikes were stolen on the Saturday. 3.There was some ICE on the trails, but all ridable, even for me. There were some trail diversions operating as well.
It´s very nice to drive through the forrest in the winter when everything is white – I like this too.
Hmmm…? Come and join us then, we can all enjoy driving our bikes in the forrest.
I'll be driving my bike through the forrest
Yeah we need some new trails at Delamere, I'll follow you driving through!

Glad you had a good ride Kev. Probably won't be up to Llandegla for a few weeks yet – but will bear what you said in mind.
Let me know if you're up for the weekend away.
