Eleanor shows us all how to do it!
Eight of us enjoyed a bright morning around the forest, topped off with a race up Pale Heights which Gareth won. I’ve been coaching him on the niceties of racing and he’s a quick learner. After tucking in behind Kevan and Jonti into the headwind, he sensed their easing up as the going steepened again and seized his chance, jumping away with a terriffic kick.
Good bacon and egg batches at the station cafe too.
Its true, I’ve learnt from the best! Now if only I could do it on my road bike in a race…
After you guys left I toddled around on my own for a bit before I decided to “time-trial” the white route. Could be a new club mountain bike section – Cross Country Time Trials? Well I did scare a few walkers and dogs doing it but managed 21mins 15secs, anyone else fancy a go?
How do!
Couldn’t make Staurday shame as it looked good. Made up for missing that by doing the race at Lee quarry that the lads did the other week. I know hurt, a lot! boy it was ruff.
If we have an MTB time trial do we need areo helmets!!!
Ross
Oh yeah, aero helmets, skin suits, the lot!!
Did I hear the night ride being mentioned again for this Sunday?
You did hear correct!
Sunday at 2000hrs outside the shop in weaverham.
I think there might be some milage in the MTB time trial. I did one a few years ago. We could use a loop in the forest and hold an unoffical one for the club trophy!!! Drop in some technical bits
Ross
Just spotted that you were 15th Ross in the Racer category at Lee Quarry 17 May – well done!
See you Sunday evening, as long as you take it a bit steadier.
