Sounds like a good event – I might ride it! It’s local enough.
What a great event, even given the frankly shocking conditions under-wheel, I had to wash my cycling kit twice!
Well done to those Weaver Valley members who rode it, especially Ross who crossed the line first, and Kevan for being foolhardy, (or should that be brave) enough to have a punt.
But I know there are more of you out there with MTB’s put a date in your diary for next year.
Many congrats to Nick and family for great organisation and to all the WVCC marshals and supporters who turned out in such inclement weather. And well done to Ross!
It was quite an experience, I would never have thought a mud bath could be so enjoyable!
Yep i agree. well done Nick wouldn’t have been so good without your hard work.
Good to see such a good turn out
Glad most riders seem to have enjoyed the race despite (or because of!) the conditions. I would like to have ridden, but there was too much to do and then again I didn't fancy my chances against Ross for the best WVCC rider, especially in all that mud-well done Ross and all those who rode the various events.
Many many thanks to all those who helped with all the work on the day from 8am until gone 3pm. It was a very long day in difficult conditions. Thanks to Ann and Rosie for the bacon butties, my son Stuart for looking after the signing on and lots of other stuff and Dave Fearon for the tent (the marquee we hired was missing some essential bits!).
Thanks also for great support from our event sponsors- Bike Factory Chester, Dave Hinde Racing Northwich, Fenwick's bike cleaners, Jack Gee Northwich, Cyclelife at G&B Northwich and Rosebank Sports Northwich. I think the portaloo was a worthwhile investemnt too!
Hope to see you all next year for more fun in the mud. Results at BC website of course and we hope to have some pictures at photobucket soon. Go to the club website https://www.weavervalleycc.org.uk and follow the link.
