Though it might be useful to hear what those sensible CTC folks make of riding in these conditions http://www.promtb.net/news/ridinginsnow.htm - not sure I'll be trying the DIY tyres though! I'm really sorry I missed the last Delamere ride (and the quiz), but am shaking off the man flu in time for 29 Dec I hope.

Incidentally, on the subject of CTC, all WVCC members are strongly recommended to also join CTC or British Cycling and have 3rd party insurance cover with them. The benefits are obvious, if you are liable for an accident they will fork out up to £10m. And they have experts who will represent you if you are the victim while out on your bike. This usually means you will get a better outcome much more quickly. I'm not trying to put a damper on the festive spirit, but with a new year and everything, maybe ask for it as part of your Christmas list. It's about the same price as a pair of decent tyres!
