with the most recent revelation of pedal power campaign from the guardian I came across this on the road.cc website and think its a cracking idea. this could improve the chance of a motorist seeing you by 50% and in cities sometimes even more. it looks good and is extremely functional.
check it out and help them to kickstart their product
