'We have an Inside Out special this Friday night to mark 20 years of the Manchester Velodrome. “Inside the Medal Factory” is presented by John Amaechi and looks at how the velodrome has gone from being a white elephant built for Manchester’s failed Olympic bid to a powerhouse for British cycling leading to our world domination of the sport. We’ve interviews with all the stars – Chris Boardman, Sir Chris Hoy, Sir Bradley Wiggins, Victoria Pendleton as well as current riders like Ed Clancy, Jason Kenny and Laura Trott and Joanna Rowsell from the women’s team pursuit who are all this week competing in the World Championships in Colombia.
We also go behind the scenes of the Velodrome and speak to their coaches – Shane Sutton, Sir Dave Brailsford and Dr Steve Peters – a psychiatrist who has been described as the most important person in the building.'
