Has anybody done it, or know of anybody that has?
I've been thinking of doing a course in the summer.
Thoughts appreciated.

I know of one person who has it, but is no longer a cycle mechanic(!) - as he changed his career to a software programmer.
It's the only widely recognised formal qualification in the UK as far as I know. I guess if that is your chosen career path, then it probably makes sense to choose something that is recognised in the industry.
