Dear all,
Your help is needed to marshall the Cheshire Classic Road Race on Sunday 22nd April. The race is the opening race on the Women's National Series calendar and we have a great field with some big name riders travelling from all round the country.
We have had a lot of great press over the past few months in Cycling Weekly, Velo UK and a number of blogs. We were even on the front page of British Cycling this morning! We will be supported by National Escort Group and paramedic outriders this year too.
We need people on junctions and a team of riders to cycle round and reece the course beforehand to check for tacks etc!
Please let us know on here and send Alan Silver an email if you can attend to alan@weavervalleycc.org.uk
Thanks in advance for those that volunteer, without you the race wouldn't be possible. Your help and support is much appreciated.
Woody
Elaine and I will be there as always. I'll ride up to help reece the course first.
I'm sure you'll get a good response Woody.
Cheers Julesy!
count me in, just let me know what to do
Les 😀
Les,
You jump out in the middle of the road with a red flag. Hoping that the traffic will stop 😉
coool, liking the sound of that haha
Les 😆
They do a marshals briefing before the race. You get put in teams at the junctions with people that have done it before.
It's good fun as long as the weather is ok. Bit miserable if its raining.
sounds good, and will get me some experience for future events. Should I e-mail Alan as well?
Les 😀
Wouldn't do any harm.
Woody will pick it up on here as well.
Cheers Les! Yes if you could email Alan as well that would be great!
I'll help you woody who would moan about watching woman on bikes? not me!! haha 😛
Dylan, I was thinking the same thing 😀
Great minds think a like :')
Count me in for marshalling and cycling the course beforehand to check for the obvious(!)
Cheers guys! Ady will you be taking some pics again, last year's looked mint!
