The weather certainly played a part today as we waited in the drizzle outside of the legion for 10:00 to arrive!!

Nevertheless, expecting no-one, we had a young enthusiast pedalling up, suited and booted with his dad, club member Andy, along with him, and Gina, who came to get an idea of precisely what we were doing with these new-fangled ideas for newer and less experienced riders.

We therefore set off and took off-road cycle friendly paths and Cheshire country lanes to Gt Budworth Ice Cream Farm.

Young Sam – the enthusiastic son of Andy – seemed to take everything in his stride, and romped up the hills (there weren’t too many), and by his own admission, enjoyed the downhills(!)

The food was good at the cafe, and fuelled us well for the return journey.

A total of 17 miles notched up for the day, and a big well done to Sam for making it all look so easy!!

Despite the damp start to the day, it went to show that this was just right for those who are a bit nervous or roads, need a bit more cycling experience, or just want a steady and sociable ride.

Keep a lookout on the site, Facebook and Twitter, as we’ll be organising another ride soon, hopefully with a better weather outlook, and more eager riders!!
