Reading Time: 2 minutes

Over 30 riders including lots of new adult riders, and (probably) a record turn out of ladies and lots of youngsters. And somehow Alan managed to keep everyone together and everyone entertained!
There was a hill climb, a sprint and one 4 mile road race for the youngsters and another for the adults. The winners were Kev, Graham, James and Kev respectively – well done them. And a few other well dones: to Alan for his organisation and encouragement; for everyone for joining in and raising money; to Andy who somehow managed to keep up with everyone despite being on his mountain bike with his 2 year old lad on the back; to young Liam who at only 10 coped brilliantly with the ride and had a nasty fall but rode on and kept smiling; to Jed who kept us all entertained scooting past in his yellow rocket; and in fact to all the youngsters who showed such enthusiasm and tenacity in keeping up. It’s great to see how our youngsters are coming on with their Sunday rides and visits to the track – they’re looking dead fit and have learned to ride really well in a group. And I gather we raised over £300 for the guide dogs – not a bad day out!
