Fantastic turnout today for the Withington Wheelers 10 mile TT on J2/1 in Chelford with eight WV riders representing the club. Conditions weren’t looking too great earlier in the day but they cleared up nicely in time for the start, leaving just the stiff NW wind to contend with. This meant a tough out leg and an easier return, if there is such a thing in a Β a 10 mile TT πŸ™‚

Andy Woolley had an extra challenge in that he’d forgotten his race shoes so had to borrow a pair that were two sizes too big! It was nearly gaffer tape time all over again but Andy still did a great ride.

Once the chat was over it was down to racing and we were quite evenly spread across the whole field with a few quite closely grouped, which made for some interesting battles. Results were as follows:

Stu Ward – 24:26

Colin Latter – 25:40

Dan Robson – 26:11

Carol Robson – 27:59

Andy Woolley – 25:46

Lynsey Astles – 27:09

Alistair Stanway – 23:00

Paul Connor -23:40

I didn’t get chance to speak with everyone afterwards but there are some great rides posted there and Lynsey got a third place in the Ladies Vets category which is excellent. So a good day and all back safe. Well done everyone!

The winner was Simon Wilson (Ribble Pro Cycling) with a quite unbelievable 19:31. An incredible time on that course, even on a good day and today wasn’t that great conditions wise.
