Another nice, mild and not particularly windy day had John K, Geoff M, Rich M, Emily M, Sam T and Carl J take a meandering ride out to a new club destination, The Sheep Shed near Whitchurch. It was generally a pretty flat ride but the hills, as much as they were, came before we got to the cafe. We had a really steady ride out, down sometimes less than perfect lanes, that were flooded in loads of places. Our route took us through Little Budworth, Tattenhall and Malpas before skirting Whitchurch to get to the cafe. We met up with the short run 3 times on the way out – they were going to The Lost Barn & our paths kept crossing.

The Sheep Shed is a fine cafe with a nice welcome, decent food and great service. The only down side to getting there is the couple of miles of busy main road just before arrival.

Fed and watered we went up through Whitchurch and home via Audlem, Crewe and Middlewich. The last 30+ miles it was evident that Emily had realised she had left the gas on at home because she didn’t want to hang around. We were all very pleased to sit on her wheel and get towed along (I’m sure I must still have mud in my hair, it was everywhere).

Through Moulton and Sam did a good turn on the front, winding things up for the rise in to Davenham and the inevitable sprint which left my legs in bits. I ended the day with just under 80 miles, tired but happy.
