Richard had a great idea about heading over some of Snowdonia’s 3000′ mountains and the two Kev’s and I were game enough (perhaps daft enough) to accompany him.

We took the Roman Road which was ridable all the way up Drum before pushing up Foel Fras, the most northeasterly of the Welsh 3000 footers.

From here we headed along fairly flat terrain to Carnedd Uchaf under clear blue skies, but a strengthening SE wind. Heading south from the summit I shot a little video before the camera batteries expired. We continued over Foel Grach then onwards to Carnedd Llewelyn, but turned back about half a km before the summit as the terrain got completely unridable and the wind was continuing to strengthen. We found a route back to the north and west dropping into the village of Aber. Sorry the videos weren’t better, but at least they give some idea of the spectacular scenery. Thanks Richard!
