After missing several weeks from the track due to work and family commitments I returned for the final night’s racing of 2024. Amongst the riders tonight were national champions, ex professionals & other national standard riders. Luckily these riders weren’t in my group, unluckily, this meant that some very quick guys got bumped down to race with me which had the knock-on effect of me getting more battered than usual. In short, the highlights of the 5 races were a 6th place in a scratch race and a single point from the points race. It isn’t actually about the winning (???!!!) it’s about the taking part & something to inspire on a dark winter night. Looking forward to the new season starting in January.
