For those interested in our local organisation for open time trials, here is the August newsletter.

Dear All,

Attached is the August Newsletter.

This first edition is focussing on important information and actions required over the next few weeks .

The plan is to produce a Newsletter at specific times of the year to keep all club members up to date on the key activities/ successes in the District .It is therefore very important that all your club members are circulated with it.

The Newsletter will not be replacing our website which is updated on a regular basis with information .

The committee do hope that you will find the current newsletter and future ones both informative and enjoyable .

Regards

Ian Middleton

District Secretary

August 2014

2015 Season

Open Events   You will have received and seen the e mail message from Tony Millington (2nd July) relating to the 2015 season application forms for open Events.  As Tony outlined we are endeavouring to get a good start in getting the dates fixed and would appreciate it if you would send your forms into myself by August 18th (I have spoken to a couple of clubs who are having club meetings on 22nd August ).

Goostrey Village Hall   From the early part of the season we have had an increase in riders entered in a number of events where Goostrey has been the HQ.  This is fantastic for our sport and the clubs in our district.  However it put extreme pressure on the parking arrangements at the village hall which led riders to park, change and Turbo on the side of the main road.  This in turn led to complaints from local residents.  To solve this problem an arrangement for extra parking was made between the district Committee and the owner of the field adjacent to the village hall (from May to end of season).  This has relieved the pressure off the road and to date has been a success.  We are keen to have this facility for the 2015 season and will be meeting the owners at the end of September when our Open Events dates are all fixed.

To have this facility during this season the district has covered the cost of £50 for the hire of the field for each event.  Next year those clubs planning to use Goostrey as their event HQ will need to take into consideration the additional cost when setting their entry fee.  An increase of 50p per entry would seem appropriate.

National 50 miles Time Trial Our district has been offered to host the National 50 on 13th June 2015.

We welcome offers from clubs to host and organise this prestigious event.

(Please contact myself / Tony Millington)
