2 Bradburns Lane
Hartford, Northwich, Cheshire West and Chester CW8 1LS
UK
This is our fourth beginners and new starters ride.
The date is Sunday 30th August at 10:00 am , and the meeting location will be in the car park of the (now closed) Hartford British Legion in Bradburns Lane, Hartford (Opposite the Grange School).
The route this week will go to a local cafe, a ride of around 16-18 miles round trip, or, if abilities of the group demand it, a longer route of around 30+. There will be a few hills (you can’t avoid them in Cheshire), but they’ll be kept to a necessary minimum, and there will be no time pressure (it isn’t a race or a sportive!).
The route will predominantly use roads, and will pick up cycleways and tracks where appropriate.
The plan is to introduce bike riders to club cycling, and to give those riders some confidence (at their own pace) to progress to our normal Sunday club rides.
We aim to ride out in one or more small groups, on one of the routes around the Cheshire countryside with a stop for a drink and some food at the cafe. We’ll then cycle back to the start, again at an easy pace.
Future routes will vary (dependent upon number and ability) and may got to Great Budworth Ice Cream Farm, Delamere Station Cafe, Toft Road Ice Cream Farm, Tatton Park Cafe and various other destinations.
You are encouraged to take a look at the New Riders sections of the web site at: https://www.weavervalleycc.org.uk/new-riders/ for tips, but the ride will be informal and relaxed, with plenty of time for rest and chat!
