Reading Time: 2 minutes

A fantastic bright and sunny day greeted us the day after the club dinner (see post above), and those who took it easy at the dinner, and quite a few more – all turned up to take advantage of the weather, and head of to the Mills.
As per usual, the group split into a long and short run. The short run headed off through Delamere, and the pace was brisk. We split the groups again to give Anne at the Mills a chance(!), and the slightly faster group set off, and headed through Aston Heyes, Mickle Trafford and onto the cycleway.
Here things got interesting. There were plenty of people (and dogs and kids) out, so we had to take care (as we did). At one underpass, we encountered quite-a-lot of water (up to a foot deep in places). On we soldiered through the flood, carefully picking our way with now wet feet(!)
I say carefully, as Rich, in a tally-ho fashion, took on the watery mass – and failed, taking an early foot bath in the ditch!
Later, as carefully avoiding dogs, Andy unclipped to avoid a tiny, pooing-while-walking pooch, bringing on a sudden cramp in the calf. He took to lying down in the sun, while other club mates helped with words of encouragement and help in relieving the sudden pain!
Other than that, and another cyclist brandishing a branch shouting, we were then okay.
Thus we proceeded to the Mills, with Wood taking out the sprint, before I followed, ran out of revs, and saw Gregory take a close victory from Wood.
Anne came out as we left to take a photograph for the website and the Eureka cafe Facebook page.

Anne expertly captured the relaxed and happy nature of the day!!

The return journey was only punctuated by a snakebite puncture and a slight mechanical gear issue. Other than that, a cracking day out on the bike, and the last useful miles before Llanberis… Aaaaaargh!!!!!
