The last time I visited Dagfields it was the weekend before Llanberis. It was a mild, sunny day with lots of talk about the next weekend that lay ahead. It was a cloudier, more relaxed visit this time round with more talk about the Club 10s.

Despite dull, overcast skies a good crowd gathered at the British Legion on Sunday morning with both routes winding their separate ways over to Dagfields. Talk on the forum during the week had seen Kris Zentek plot an adventurous route which took the long route East to around Holt and Malpas before heading West to Dagfields. 9 riders took him up on the offer while a good 15 went on Al’s shorter route through Wettenhall.

The pace was brisk but easy enough for a good chat, Dylan Sharrock had come to his senses, got out of bed and wore some proper cycling kit for a change to join us along with Terry Veal who took a break from his caravan to be with us, it’s hard a life for some!

As we arrived at Audlem cafe to see how busy it was, we were surprised to see Max already in having a brew. Unfortunately we couldn’t get a seat so headed on to Dagfields. Dylan stayed with Max and we didn’t see them later on.

At the cafe we heard about how Carol is now a new woman after her bike fit session, rumours that she will be taking on Lizzie Armitstead next year are to be confirmed. Beans and Toast in our bellys, Craig then guided us back home via Warmingham. A miserable day weather wise but lots of good chat.
