I have not had a Garmin so can't compare but this works for me.
Thanks Paul,
One of the features that I'm after is some basic navigation, I think the Garmin 500 has a turn by turn feature, I'm not sure which one of the bryton's has this as this is not shown in the comparison chart. I'll do do some research before purchasing.

The Bryton 21 does not have turn by turn unfortunately. I don't think that the 500 has either but could be wrong.
The 800 and 810 has navigation, not the 500
i got a mio 300 for christmas and it`s pretty good for nav . bit bigger than a garmin though , but alot cheaper. i paid £140
Colin,
Ive got a garmin etrex30 available that has turn by turn navigation.
Open to offers.
Sorry I have not responded to this Liamski I have been on Holiday and not been able to access the forum. I'm not sure what a Garmin etrex 30 is, I have googled it and it looks more like a handheld device, can it be mounted on the bike and does it record all the usual info. average speed, elevation etc. If so can you give me an idea of how much you want for it.
Thanks for all the advice and offers on this one, I have now bought myself a Garmin 500.
Nice, decent bit of kit.
Ive only ever used this etrex30 when tabbing doing PT so I unsure on its use ability as a bike computer.
