Bit of a while off yet but make sure you put the date in the diary to book the day off work. A group of us headed up last year, some drove, some rode, to the top of Gun Hill and it was ace.

Booking the day off on the 13th for a ride out. Might also book Monday 10th off, as the finish is in Knowsley.

Might take a roll out.

I did the stoke tour ride last year. Was a tough, tough day with strong winds over the derbyshire moors and relentless drizzle!

But worth doing, deffo!

Won't be doing it again though, because I have turned into Les and refuse to pay £50 to ride my bike on open roads, knowing that not a penny of it is ever seen by the "charity" 🙁

Kris, the sportive isnt as much as that this year its only £35 i think you would have to check but dont think its as much as £50, but the price includes feed stations as much food at them feed stations and a good excuse to stock up your energy gels fro at home 😛

As there seems to be some interest, I'll stick this in the calendar as a one-off run out eh? Would be great to get a good number of us on the slopes of Gun Hill! Can meet at the legion - meeting time TBA (when the stage schedule is published - don't want to be late!)

Yeah worth doing that Ady. I've got a good route out which is basically the same as The Cloud ride on Sunday and then at Congleton Garden Centre is the route from the Cheshire Cat which was great and takes you to the base of Gun Hill.

Good man! It's on! As soon as the schedule's published, I'll post it here and we'll decide what time to meet.

Potential route - big day in the saddle. The climb from Congleton to the top of Gun Hill is a bitch.

When you turn right after the climb out of Congleton it is beautiful. Great piece of road.
