Advice please guys,
Am I up to this? want to enter but not sure what its all about, last ride out on Wednesday I managed 14.4mph average over 58 miles, as some of you know I am not very experienced (but very keen) 😆 getting 100 miles a week in the last two weeks and wanting to keep this up.
any advise would be much appreciated.

the Ron Sant Audax is fairly flat and you can go at your own pace or in a group - the weblink for the event is:

this shows the min and max average speed (its al in Km) so for this you need to do the 106Km (about 66 miles) in a time better than 7 hours including stops -ie min speed is 15Km/hr (about 9 mph - sound slow but this does include any stops.
You get a detailed route sheet and a card that needs stamping/signing at controls or a question at a specific point (date on a building etc) to prove you have covered the route.
It's not a race and you will often find your own speed and either stay with a group or keep meeting the same riders through the day.
Derek Heine is organising it and I'm sure a number of WVCCs will be riding.

You will cope. The only hill is early on then it is relatively flat. Time limits are generous and 2 cafes on route 😀 . I do these things regularly and I was behind you on Sunday!

going on your Wed rides you will be well able to do this - only slightly longer and plenty of time (you literally have all day - start 9:00am and last time back is about 4:00pm giving you enough time for stops)

I wouldn't worry too much about it being signposted, there will be groups going out on the run, so just tag along with a group and you'll be fine. You'll also be given route instructions.
Don't worry Titch I'll go round with you, we'll get a group going! I've not done an Audax before so we can get lost together! I believe with an Audax you just get a list of directions no signposts! Could be interesting!
Look on the bright side if you get lost you get extra miles for your money 😀
