Hi,

My name's Alex and I've enquired about joining WVCC.

I'm 20, and after a long football career I took up cycling around 6 months ago.

I've just completed the 75 mile Cheshire Cat, and as I'm rather competitive I thought I'd join my local club (my Dad was a member about 20 odd years ago).

My only problem is as I'm a University student living from home, I work weekends to support myself financially so I'm unable to attend Sunday club runs.

Any info would be great, and I hope to meet some of you soon.

Thanks,

Alex

Hi Alex,

Good to hear from you. There was a few of us doing the Cheshire Cat, I did the 75 mile too. How did you get on?

We have a couple of university folk dropping in during holidays for a few runs which is always good to see. If you're able to get out Wednesday's there is a ride which the Wrinklies do which starts from Hatchmere crossroads which you can get involved with and also during the summer (hopefully dates will be up shortly) once a week there is a club 10 time trial in the evening which starts at 7pm from Lach Dennis and finishes near Shakerley Mere.

It went fairly well thanks, I got the Mow Cop medal which was what I wanted.

I think I'll go down to the Wrinklies ride next Wednesday as I'm off at the moment.

I'll keep an eye out for the TT dates as well.

Thanks Woody.
