The item below is in the Time trialling section but I moved it here and gave it an eye catching title as this part of the forum gets more hits! 😉
Below is a news item that I've asked the CTT to place on their website for my up coming open time trial in December. This is a one off out of season race that has been held for decades, although in the old days it was a 25 (people are softer now)! The course is a variation on our club 10 course as it starts in Byley and goes along the A50 to our usual turn off at Toft then passes through our finish point and over the motorway bridge to Three greyhounds where it turns left and over the Penny's lane motorway bridge to finish a couple of hundred metres short of Penny's lane. The event HQ is at Goostrey Village Hall.
Although this is a local association event, this is my second year organising it and Jane Kew organised it for the previous 3 years so it would be great if we could get a good turn out from the Weaver valley, especially as it's on "our roads" so to speak. The general turn out is always good not only for riders but also for spectators from the clubs as it's a bit of fun with the fancy dress event at the beginning. Caroline will be working hard in the kitchen and last year she did a bumper trade in cakes / sandwiches etc. So get your entries in or you can help with marshalling if you like or just come out and watch but don't miss this good day out.

Please note that entries for this popular out of season festive 10 mile time trial need to be in by Tuesday 27th November. Also note that the address in the handbook is incorrect and should read 12 Whitley Ave, Barnton, Northwich, Cheshire CW84LW. There is a fancy dress event which always proves popular with riders and spectators and for those who want to test their out of season condition around the sporting Cheshire lanes, there is the more serious open event. The atmosphere is always great and nobody goes home disappointed, what more can you ask for a £7 entry fee?

It's not quite as simple as posting a cheque Lesley as this is an open event not just a club event. You need to enter the time trial using a CTT entry form like you did for the Ladies event in the Summer. If you go to the CTT website you can download a form. Fill that out and send it to me with your £7 entry. Make sure you state on the entry form if your entering the fancy dress event or the open event or you may end up in the wrong part of the field. All the fancy dress riders go off at the beginning at minute intervals as normal and then the open event riders start after that. It only takes 5 minutes to fill out the entry form.
