Hi,

as some of you will know James and I will be riding the coast to coast route from Whitehaven to Newcastle upon Tyne over 3 days from 21st May to 23rd May The total distance is about 140 miles with a mix of road and off road riding.

James will be raising money for a local charity called The Joshua Tree, a charity that aims to build a holiday house and support centre for families who have a child with a life threatening illness, where the treatment makes social interaction with the general public difficult because of the risk of infection. Further details can be found on their website www.thejoshuatree.org.uk .

We start from Whitehaven on the Friday riding through the Lake District to Penrith via the Whinlatter pass.

On Saturday we climb from Penrith up into the Pennines to Allenheads. There are climbs up Hartside, out of Garrigill and Black Hill. This will be a tough day over very hilly terrain.

On Sunday, we pedal (downhill?) from Allenheads to Newcastle where we dip our wheels in the sea. Then it's back to school for James on the Monday!

Hopefully our Saturday mornings with Nick going around Delamere Forest, and the Sunday club runs with Alan will have put us in good shape to take on this challenge.

It's easy to donate online with a credit or debit card - just go to James' JustGiving page:

http://www.justgiving.com/James-Risk

JustGiving sends your donation straight to The Joshua Tree Holiday House and Support Centre for Courageous Kids And Their Families and automatically reclaims Gift Aid if you're a UK taxpayer, so your donation is worth even more.

Any support you can give to James and the Joshua Tree will be much appreciated.

Thanks .

James & Andrew.
