For those up for it, I believe entries for 2011 Cheshire Cat open tomorrow. The reputable early season sportive, which takes place normally around the end of March, sees distances of 45, 67 and 100 miles, the latter 2 taking in Mow Cop within the first 20 miles once you've departed from Crewe.

I've done the shortest distance twice and really enjoyed it, always good organisation. I'm going for the 67 this time (fingers crossed). A lot of clubs turnout and ride in a group so if you're up for it get involved, a good way of getting early season miles into the legs. Be quick as it sold out within the week last time.

Yes, haven't decided whether I'm going for it this year. Rode it 2009, which was a really good hilly course. Didn't ride last year (due to injury unfortunately), but wasn't as impressed by last years route. I'll see what the rout is first, the I may be tempted...

I've got a feeling it might the same as last year, got a lot of good feedback. Hilly first quarter, flat for the remaining miles (although the headwind last year was incredible!)

Tell me about it, I was in a group that did not drop below 25mph until we hit Mow Cop, that sorted the men from the boys, too many people had the wrong ratios. Once we began heading west the headwind was unrelentless. I spent the whole day passing people who had gone too hard too soon and were suffering big time. That said I thoroughly enjoyed it and I am thinking of doing it again
